Where's the Best Place to Go
for a San Diego Massage Therapist?
You could take a friend's recommendation to go see their massage
therapist, but
- every body is different,
- there are many types of massage, and
- every massage therapist has a unique personality and touch.
So, wouldn't it be better to have a number of different options
at your fingertips? To be able to choose your massage therapist from
several, all in one place?
That's what you get at Peak Performance Therapeutic Massage
in Ocean Beach. Tucked away in a small business area a half
block away from beautiful Sunset Cliffs, Peak Performance is
the first holistic massage establishment in the Ocean Beach and Point
Loma areas - they opened for business in 1992.
The owner, Danae Koolen, is a third-generation Ocean Beach native.
She received her Bachelors degree in athletic training, is certified
as a Holistic Health Practitioner, and has a Masters degree in Traditional
Oriental Medicine.

I, your humble webservant, asked Danae a couple of questions to
help you understand more about how she could help you find a San Diego
massage therapist.
What's so great about the massage therapists at Peak Performance?
All of the San Diego massage therapists at Peak Performance have over
1000 hours of training, they've all been practicing for 10-12 years.
We have nationally certified massage therapists, both male and female,
whichever you prefer.

Is there anything specific a massage therapist needs to do different
or better in San Diego?
Beyond the normal back and neck pain people get massages for, we get
a lot of clients who are athletes, or women who are pregnant. It makes
sense, too, since so many people in southern California are in shape,
and more and more people are moving here, settling down, and having
kids.
So, a San Diego massage therapist not only needs to know the basics
of massage, but definitely should know the special needs of these two
groups. Athletes obviously have different problems than pregnant women
do, but you have to be more careful massaging pregnant women.
Thanks, Danae!
